How to Draw Balconies

Steps​

  1. Search and Select Balcony

    1. Navigate to Create Entities => Balcony
    2. Select either Polyline or Rectangle option against the balcony section.

  2. Draw Balcony Polyline

    1. Draw the balcony as a closed polyline.
    2. Make sure to include the parapet wall of the balcony within the Balcony polyline.

Drawing Conventions​

  • Balcony polyline must be drawn outside the Built Up Area outline.
  • Balcony polyline must include the parapet wall or the railing of the balcony.
  • At least one segment of the balcony polyline must exactly coincide with the Built Up Area outline.
  • Doors and windows can be drawn between Balconies and other entities like rooms.
  • Utility areas that are beside the kitchen with a parapet wall should be drawn as Balcony, not as __BN_Room.

Checkpoints​

  • Balcony polylines must not overlap with any other polylines in the floor plan.
  • Each balcony must have at least one door providing access.
  • Utility areas that are beside the kitchen with a parapet wall should be marked as Balcony, not as a Room.
